Code, artwork, and map data your device downloads. Notices for self-hosted files travel with those files and are repeated here.

AircraftShapesSVG GPL-3.0

181 type-specific aircraft silhouettes, by RexKramer1

Read the complete GPL-3.0 license text

The map serves the originals with embedded metadata intact. Account cards serve standalone SVG outline derivatives that identify our modification and remain GPL-3.0.
tar1090 generic shapes GPL-2.0-or-later

14 generic category silhouettes, by Matthias Wirth (wiedehopf)

Read the complete GPL-2.0-or-later license text

Account-card outline derivatives remain GPL-2.0-or-later. "Or later" also permits treating them as GPLv3 when needed.

Mapterhorn terrain tiles and data contributors Source-specific open-data licenses

Elevation data for the live map's optional 3D terrain, fetched directly from Mapterhorn

The linked attribution page lists the underlying elevation datasets, their producers, and their licensing terms. Terrain data has source-specific terms, separate from Mapterhorn's software license.

The network you connect to

Not distributed to you, but named because feeders and clients interact with them directly — and one of them requires it.

mlat-server AGPL-3.0-or-later

Multilateration, originally developed by Oliver Jowett, with subsequent changes by TanerH and wiedehopf, and further maintained by adsb.lol

Network use counts as distribution under the AGPL. We run the adsb.lol fork unmodified, and that repository is the complete corresponding source for the build serving this network — which the server also tells every client on connect.
readsb GPL-3.0-or-later

Mode S/ADS-B decoder and aggregator, by Matthias Wirth (wiedehopf)

Incorporates GPL-2.0-or-later and BSD-licensed code from the dump1090 lineage. Run unmodified. Credited by choice: it is the heart of the aircraft API, not a licence requirement.

Licence texts ship alongside the components they cover. Full detail, including how the copyleft obligations are met, is on the Privacy & License page.
